Not sure I understand why Collins and Cipriani Thorne are eliminated...
ReplyDeleteOnly the heaviest hitting cardinals in the most relevant countries (as I see them... as this IS my own little guessing game) are going to make the cut. In South America, I see Peru as of much less importance in the region than Brazil and even Argentina. And Canada is irrelevant if not for Oullet (I love my North American neighbors, but I think even they know this is true). Of course, this whole exercise is arbitrary and meant to be in the spirit of a little fun as we wait for the real deal to take place. It's certainly not scientific and even if it were, I'm sure we all agree the Holy Spirit can get around that if He wills.
ReplyDeleteOK, I tend to agree with the eliminations, just understanding the criteria. So it's rite, location and heavyweight status this time round? IIRC, Thorne is dodgy on human rights. Plus he could always take the papal name "Damian", if elected! Lol...
